In what can only be called one of the year’s most exciting debuts, Canadian singer, songwriter, and pop music breakout Rêve (born Briannah Donolo) is on the cusp of her Saturn Return, a debut album released late last year on Universal Music Canada / Astralwerks. It’s a shimmering, lyrically-driven love letter to dance music’s past, present, and future, paying tribute to the genre’s roots and trailblazers while elevating and foregrounding Rêve herself as a new sonic shapeshifter. Equal parts emotional catharsis and crystalline pop confection, Saturn Return heralds the arrival of a radically truthful artist who knows how to command the dance floor. “I was very washed over by the spirit of Studio 54 and all the dance music that made me tingle,” she says. “But with this album, I made it my task as a writer in the room to pull the truth out.”

BANX & RANX

A music production duo from Montreal, QC, formed in 2014. Members Soké (real name Zacharie Raymond) and KNY Factory (real name Yannick Rastogi) are producers, songwriters and remixers. They have worked on a wide variety of international hits including Dua Lipa, Ella Eyre, Sean Paul, BLACKPINK and Nicky Jam just to name a few. Banx & Ranx are now focussing on developing acts from their hometown, and Reve is their first!
